How To Make a Bad Day Better

Bad days happen to everyone.  Unexpected events can instantly turn your attitude.  I know that one bad phone call or one grouchy customer can cause me to turn sour against the next person.  But we have a choice.  We can choose to stay angry or we can choose other actions to help lighten our mood.  I am a work in progress, but I am working on choosing the alternative actions.

5 Ways to Have a Better Day

  • Go for a walk.  Use this opportunity to remove yourself from the  situation and to clear your head.  It doesn’t have to be a long walk.  Five or ten minutes can help to gain clarity.
  • Take time to reflect.  Try writing your thoughts down in a journal or practice a little meditation.  Let the negative thoughts in and then let them back out.
  • Turn off social media/take a digital break.  The internet can be such a resourceful tool, but it can also cause lots of negativity, resentment, and comparison.  Step away from the device and focus on the real world in front of you.
  • Stretch.  Stretch your mind and your body.  Work on a creative outlet and then stretch your muscles to let out any tension.
  • Create a morning routine Click here to view more details (affiliate link).  Courtney’s microcourse demonstrates how to create a morning routine that will inspire a good day everyday.

We will all have hard days.  It’s how we take action against the tough parts that determine the outcome.
