Small Town Simple

The Simplicity Adventures of a Mother and Daughter

It’s the most wonderful time of the year…

The Christmas season is in full swing and I absolutely love diving into the fun traditions and holiday experiences.

It’s my hope every year to keep things light, simple and fun.  I try not to over plan activities in an effort to keep the stress level down.

Christmas

But, here’s what I do have planned for this month:

Plenty of hot chocolate and eggnog.
Watching several of my favorite Christmas movies on repeat.
Looking at Christmas lights.
Spending time with family.
Cooking a few holiday favorites.
Taking more pictures to capture memories.
Jamming to my favorite Christmas CDs.
Taking plenty of time to read.
Hang out in my pajamas.

As a child, a teenager and even in my early twenties, Christmas was more focused on what Santa was going to put under the tree.  But now, as the big 3-0 draws closer (EEK!), I look forward to so much more than the gifts.  Those are still fun and I can’t wait to see Tater Tot open his, but I have really come to appreciate more about the season than going out to shop.  It’s the little things that make the best memories.

What fun things do you have planned for the holiday season?

xo, Lauren
