The Simplicity Adventures of a Mother and Daughter

Books, Books & More Books

It’s pretty obvious that I enjoy reading and try to make it a priority in my daily activities.  Plus, I enjoy several different genres so if I get tired of one area , then I can easily switch to something else that suits my fancy.

The Big Tiny

I covered a wide range of books in 2014 and I am proud of the number that I read while balancing home, work, etc.  I dove into thrillers from Patricia Cornwell and Dan Brown and I explored why there is no work/life balance for the majority of the U.S. in the book Overwhelmed.

My 2014 book roundup:

  • Mary Boleyn: Mistress of Kings – Alison Weir
  • The Emperor Series – Conn Iggulden (5 books total in series)
  • Overwhelmed: Work, Love, & Play When No One has the Time – Brigid Schulte
  • One Year Off – David Elliot Cohen
  • Inferno – Dan Brown
  • The Lost Symbol – Dan Brown
  • All That Remains – Patricia Cornwell
  • Beneath a Marble Sky – John Shors

So, I have similar reading goals for 2015.  I don’t want to put so much pressure on myself that I get tired of reading but I have a list of titles that I would like to dive into this year (and some I have already finished).

  • The Big Tiny – Dee Williams
  • Vanished – Wil S. Hylton
  • The War of the Roses – Alison Weir
  • Port Mortuary – Patricia Cornwell
  • Schindler’s List – Thomas Keneally
  • Sisterhood of the Traveling Pants series – Ann Brashares (5 books total)
  • Divergent trilogy – Veronica Roth
  • Four – Veronica Roth
  • The Girl on the Train – Paula Hawkins

These are my top titles for the year and so far I have read 2.  Anything after this list is icing on the cake!

Do you have any books picked out for the year?  Do you have any titles to suggest?  I am always looking for a good read to go with my coffee.

xo, Lauren
