The Simplicity Adventures of a Mother and Daughter

2017: Being Present

Small Town Simple

Another year come and gone.  And what a year.  Life changes big and small have made 2016 a memorable one.  But I hope to add to those memories in 2017.

No resolutions or strict goals this year.  However, I do have some aspirations in different areas.

Home – I continue to work on de-cluttering and minimizing my possessions.  This is always changing and some days are better than others, but the effort is there.

Health – I am working harder to exercise more regularly and make better eating choices.  I love food and I love sweets, and if I decide to indulge that’s okay.  But I definitely want to be at my best for my family.

Work – 2017 is shaping up to be a great one in the work department.  I have officially launched Lauren Hummert Photography.  I am contributing to the site HER Clicks.  I am networking and growing.  This is the year I chase my dream.

Fun – Last year I read 16 books.  Considering we added Baby Tot to the family, I think that is a very respectable number.  I would like to see that number grow this year, but with several other commitments it may not.  That’s okay too.  I always find joy in reading and as long as that joy continues, I’m happy with whatever number I’m at.

This new year brings great opportunities for me.  But in all this, my greatest blessing is to be home with my family.  My number one focus for this year is to be present.

Do you have any goals or resolutions for the new year?  Or have you decided to see how life unfolds?  I would love to hear!

xo, Lauren
